Why should I upload my log files ?

uses your log files to update prices and other information about items (eg where it can be looted and how frequently). By uploading your log files regularly, you will ensure that the information you see is always up-to-date. You will also be able to see all the details of the trading transactions you have made in My Profits.

How do I create log files ?

In your Everquest programs directory (e.g. c:\Program Files\Everquest\) there is a file called EQClient.INI. Open this with a text editor (e.g. Notepad) and search for:

    Log=

Check that the value is set to TRUE. If Log= doesn't appear in your INI file, add this line:

    Log=TRUE

Next time you run Everquest it will automatically start recording.

It's as simple as that! You don't have to set up any hot keys or do anything different when you play, just do what you usually do and periodically upload your log files here for processing.

Where do I find my log files?

You'll find your log files either in your Everquest programs directory (e.g. c:\Program Files\Everquest\) and/or in a subdirectory called Logs (e.g. c:\Program Files\Everquest\Logs\). There are three types:

  • Normal log files (e.g. eqlog_character_server.txt) - these record details of the tells, actions etc that you hear or do while you are playing
  • Bazaar log files (e.g. bzrlog_server_character.txt) - these give details of your sales in the Bazaar
  • Barter log files (e.g. btrlog_server_character.txt) - these give details of your buy-lines (Dragons of Norrath only)

You can upload either/both types of log file. Have a look now - you may have some you didn't know were there! Simply zip them up and use this page to upload them. You can upload as many and as often as you like. We will process them immediately and e-mail you when the site has been updated (guaranteed within 24 hours) so you can view the updates. Once you have uploaded them, you can simply delete them from your system or copy them to another directory.

Important note: Please do NOT just leave your log files where they were on your hard disk after you have uploaded them, because next time you play, Everquest will append more information to the same files and they will grow larger and larger! Whilst we do ensure that no duplicates are processed into the database, it will increase the time that it takes to upload and process them.
